No trip to Byron Bay is complete without a visit to its world renowned beach and surf scene. Whether it’s long boarding at The Pass with my daughter Poppy, or dinner on the sand at the peaceful Wategos beach, Byron lives up to its reputation as an unforgettable beach destination.

If surfing isn’t your thing, finding a spot along the glorious river bank in Brunswick Heads, and spending a Sunday afternoon lazing in the cool waters of the river is the perfect way to unwind and bask in Byron’s natural beauty. The region is also full of magical spots dotted throughout the Hinterland, and our weekend do-list is constantly filled with waterfalls and swimming holes to visit! Starting at Minyon Falls, and weaving your way from one to another is a perfect weekend get-away.

With all the attention going to the waves, Byron Bay’s best hidden secrets are without a doubt its thriving art and food culture, driven by enthusiastic and friendly locals. Our first stop is always the local Farmers Market (Bryon – Thursday morning, Bangalow – Saturday morning) for fresh and local produce, coffee and bunches of flowers. When in the mood for an afternoon treat you can often find us in Bangalow at Pantry 29 for the best in house Gelato and ice cream in the area.

If you’re an art lover going through Byron, the shopping is wonderful and best displayed at our favourite space to be inspired, Jai Vasiceks Gallery on Marvel St. With something incredible always happening inside, the gallery hosts spectacular pieces that capture the essence and creativity of the area. Don’t forget to pop into The Gallery by fenton & fention. They always have incredible artists on display.
