The Three Coolest Districts to get Your Party on in Miami

Ok, I admit it here.

I am addicted to partying. Not drinking, but just partying. I love going out. I love loud music and I love dancing. Sometimes I drink, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I go with friends, sometimes I go alone. The fact remains: I like to go out.

I live in South Florida in a small town called Delray Beach.

If you Googlelyze it, you’ll notice that Delray is about an hour North from Miami.

As a child, I dreamed about going out in Miami (probably since the Fresh Prince started singing about that he is “going to Miami”). Now I can pay six bucks and sit on a train and get dropped off right in the middle of the action. Mom, I made it.

So here are the three coolest districts to get your party on in Miami:

South Beach

If I had to define the party capital of the world, I’d probably say South Beach Miami. In fact, I went there two days ago “just to meet a friend”. We ended up watching the drag queen’s dancing on ocean drive and drinking pints of beer at the Clevelander.

Uups.

You really have to try very hard to not have fun in South Beach.

Sometimes I am good at that, too. I just resist very hard to have fun. In South Beach though, this is harder than just letting go.

Some of the cities best clubs are located there. Like Trade or LIV or Story or Nikki Beach. You get the idea… Even though I am not a fan of the “table service culture” in those clubs and I usually hang out in the middle of the dance floor, these places are still fun.

On top of that, you can grab great Cuban food… or get a new tattoo… or watch some of the most attractive people (I wanted to say women and I guess the men are handsome, too) walk past.

If you are into fun and don’t mind a little pretentiousness and superficiality, you got to go to South Beach… at least for one beer at Mango’s.

Wynwood

I hope the locals won’t kill me for writing what I am going to write.

Wynwood is the art center of Miami. As for all metropolitan art centers, the district is very hip and probably does not likes being called hip. Young humans wear fedora’s and discuss art and drink local beer. I like all of that. I wear fedora’s, too.

The bars there are somewhat different… maybe it is the vibe. They play some of the finest old-school rap… or some of the best underground techno. Hip.

People wear their coolest outfits and talk about the coolest topics and newest trends. Locals mingle with the visitors to create an overall friendly atmosphere.

The house parties are rumored to be great… I haven’t made it to one, yet.

Overton, Miami

Overtown

What used to be infamous for heroin addiction, turned into one of the most up-and-coming party spots… especially if you like to stay up late (like real late).

One of my friends has an apartment there. Sometimes I come back to sleep at 9am in the morning and when I wake up around noon or so, I can still hear the music playing.

Two of Miami’s best clubs are located in Overtown: Space, the notorious house and techno nightclub that frequently attracts the best DJs from all over the globe and Steam, offering one of the best sound systems in the city.

There are no neighbours who could complain, just shut-down industrial buildings. The area is a little sketchy… not really dangerous though.

I recommend a trip to Overtown only to hard-headed partygoers who don’t mind to see some weird stuff going on and who are not opposed to people openly taking all kind of drugs and waiting in line to get a line, so to speak.

If you “only” want to grab a few drinks among friends and are more attracted to the light and happy as opposed to the deep and dark, I’d say go to South Beach.

You can never really go wrong with South Beach.
